As we approach the end of the year, it’s also a good time to take stock. We are in a period of transition as we come out of the pandemic and we need your help in hearing and responding to God. Watch out for a survey that will be coming out in the weeks ahead; we want to learn from your experience of the pandemic – including any contact or support you’ve had from the Church – to help us learn lessons and make plans for the future. The Ministry Team and PCCs have agreed five headings drawn from Jesus’s Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-39) and his Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). These headings do not constitute a Vision or Strategy, rather they are containers for all the thoughts, experiences, ideas and inspiration of the whole Church family. The headings are:

1. Evangelism (sharing the Good News of the Gospel)

2. Worship (for all ages, in church and online)

3. Service to others (in church, in the community)

4. Discipleship (growing in our faith, study, vocation and practice)

5. Fellowship (our church family and groups)

As well as the survey, which is primarily looking at the recent past and the present reality, we plan to hold meetings in the new year to discern and develop our vision for the future. Please pray and consider what God might be saying to you about the work of the church; use the framework as a guide, or you may feel strongly about something that doesn’t fit under these headings. Feel free to talk to any of the clergy team with your thoughts and remember that you can also talk to any member of the PCC and they will pass messages on.
