Diocese achieves Bronze Eco Diocese award

The Diocese of Oxford has been awarded the A Rocha Bronze Eco Diocese status in recognition of its commitment to good environmental and ethical stewardship.

As part of a six-point environmental strategy, the diocese has divested from fossil fuels, is equipping churches to reduce their environmental footprint, and is embedding creation care across mission and ministry practices.

Of course, our journey to net Zero is only possible if every church, every household and every person plays their part. We’re thrilled that more than 150 churches in the diocese have registered with the Eco Church scheme so far and have already achieved 35 bronze and 10 silver awards.+

St John’s is one of the 35 and we are working towards getting silver.
